3BS Vienna city rally

The third-year students of Bildungscampus Flora Fries business school, class 3BS, met at the University of Vienna to take part in a city rally around the Ring boulevard and the first district of Vienna together with Mrs. Fenlon and Mr. Kornsteiner. Each pupil had to prepare questions about an attraction, and the other students tried to answer them as quickly as possible.

After leaving the university, we walked along the Ring boulevard to learn more about the Mölkerbastei. Our tour then took us past the famous Café Landtmann, the Burgtheater, the City Hall and the Parliament. We admired the roses in the Volksgarten and learned about the Heldenplatz, the Austrian National Library and the World Museum. We also visited other parts of the Imperial Palace like the Schweizer Tor, the Treasury, the Burgkapelle where the Vienna Boys’ Choir sings, Sisi’s apartments, and the Spanish Riding School, where we saw the Lipizzaner horses being taken to their training.

After a final glance at the Roman ruins at Michaeler Platz and the delicious cakes at Café Demel, we went on a magical trip through Vienna’s history at “Time Travel & Sisi’s Amazing Journey.” We went down into a basement where a 5D cinema and different exhibitions showed us scenes from Vienna's long history. For Sisi’s Amazing Journey we also wore VR goggles and took a virtual boat ride to learn even more about the imperial family.

After the museums, we went to our final destination, the St. Stephen’s Cathedral. We walked around it and learned lots of new facts about this building. Before it was time to finish the tour, we each recalled facts that we had learned on this eventful and fun day.
